Madhurima Halder is born and brought up in Calcutta and did her schooling from Auxilium Convent. She discovered her way with pen at an early age and slowly became an avid reader and learner from books. She still writes to her friends about the first book which she read and that was Agatha Christie's An Appointment With Death.
In spite of reading she started scribbling poetry. Amateur poems turned out to be profound at times.
She started focusing a lot on English-language and Literature during High School and started to write more avidly.
Her first debut novel Every Heart Has Something To Say... was published by Omji Publishing House and was pretty well accepted. She even contributed a short story named The Girl with a Glass of Cocktail in the book The Second Life. She thought that nothing could be more enchanting than sharing a writing space with the national record making author Preeti Singh. Later although the story received many tough criticisms for portraying the life of a woman of the night.
Jhumpa Lahiri, Neel Mukherjee, Umberto Eco and Vikram Seth are her all time favourite writers.
Madhurima believes that life should be lead living in the present. She admits her unconditional love for books, travelling and bakery.
Currently, she is working on her next novel. Her poetry collection named 'In The Mid-Autumn and other poems' is on its way for publication and would be released in the year 2017.
