Abir Mukherjee's Second!

Review of Abir Mukherjee's Soar:

About the Author:
Abir Mukherjee was born and brought up in Bardhaman, a
small town of West Bengal. He is currently based in U.S.A having completed more than 8 years as an IT Professional. He
has completed his B.E. in computer science and engineering in 2005 and started working in different software MNCs. ‘S.O.A.R’ is his second novel. Blackbuck Publication has published his
first novel, ‘As Life Has No Undo’. He loves to sketch and write in his spare time. He writes to entertain people, not to teach them how to live life, how to be successful in life or any other philosophical lessons.
You can get in touch with him on Facebook.

Storyline:
Frustrated with their current jobs Uday, Adhyayan and Rajasekaran team up to start an innovative business, non- existent in India until then. Ignoring all the pragmatic aspects of life, they chase their dreams with immense pleasure. However their journey is no cakewalk as they confront financial crisis and reviews. Uday plays a business trick to triumph over that uninfluenced market; it works initially but soon boomerangs, blowing the team apart.
The police arrests Uday accusing him of illegal activity in their organization.
Were there any blemishes in their plan or was it just the typical Indian market reluctant to except an un-experimented concept? Will they be successful enough in implementing their innovation, staking their hard earned money, stable jobs, relationships and life?
S.O.A.R is the story of chasing a dream, quandary between desires and responsibilities, friendship and love.

This is what the storyline depicts or in short what the blurb of the book tells us.

Publisher: Frog Books, Leadstart Publishing.

Review:
For some years some subtle changes in the practice of advertising have been reshaping the society people live in. The force of advertising reaches out and touches everyone living and working in the modern world today. Advertising is claimed by its practitioners to be largely responsible for the good things in life and is criticized by its opponents as the cause of unpleasant things.

The impact of advertising on the society is a fiercely debated topic, and has been ever since the conception of advertising in its most basic form. There are negative and positive social impacts upon society from advertising in its various forms. For instance, advertising promoting public welfare has a positive social impact.

This book has well depicted all the highs and lows of manipulating a business. It is not a book which will give you an elongated description on how to develop in your firms but an unending inspiration which will keep you attached to it till it's last page.

Advertising is designed to shape and influence the perceptions of the public. From the correct model for "beauty" to the right kind of education, from the correct person for the office to the best type of take out pizza---advertising targets every part of our lives. In his second novel by the way he has decided to showcase Uday, Adhyayan and Rajasekaran in an amazing manner. They have represented themselves as true people in this advertising reign.

Comments:
It is a must read if by chance you are caught between the web of relationship, friendship, love, betrayal and above all stuck in business matters.
What happens when an un-expeimented topic on business really comes into existence? There is nothing better than this book.

How readers will take this?
The first thing that they will say will be that it was damn interesting and inspiring. And yeah the trick( not to be disclosed) played by Uday was extraordinary!

Just Somewhat Like This

Just somewhat like this
It happened once when you
Took my scarf away and I ran crying behind you,
You picked me up on your lap
And I struggled to get down
Since you did not listen to what I wanted.

I was left awestruck when,
You pulled my cheeks and I looked
With anger in your eyes,
Without any dismay you smiled at me.
The skyline has a limit for me,
But for you it had always been unending.

Get down from my head,
I want to forget you,
I want to leave my past
And run into the future.
But how dare you be the colour of my blood?
How dare you take my crying soul to sleep?

I dare to magic your crying soul to sleep.
I dare to hold your hand while you cross,
What are you waiting for?
Can't you just say that I am the life of your blood?
I woke up from the dream with sweat all over,
Your monologue echoed.

I walked down the river bed and threw stones into it,
I talk to you when no one's around,
Till today there is a you beside every me,
I nowadays stretch my hands myself for you to hold,
Since I know,
Father I can never forget you.

The Song Of An Open Book

The red scarf around my neck moves in a sashay,
The window of my room is kept ajar,
The clouds have piled above,
I need to go abode,
Come holy rain take me in your arms,
And let me fly around witnessing the dusk.

The oil in my hair made it more black.
The golden skin is glowing against the dark shadows,
The clouds are singing their hymn
I need to go abode,
Come holy rain take me in your soul,
And let me fly around witnessing the silver waters.

You ask me, how do I know you?
How do I recognize you?
I repeat, 'Chul amar brindar disha!' ( My hair is swirling like Radha)
I need to go abode,
Come holy rain take me with you,
And let me fly through the heaven witnessing the spirituality of life.

The sitar string beats against the tabla,
The Lavanya-s and Amit-s are reciting their first poem,
I will require your touch,
I need to go abode,
Come holy rain take me close by you,
And let me fly, let me fly with you, witnessing the open book below.

About the book A Known Stranger:

Well the blurb of the book reads as follows:
Story Plot:
Have you ever known a stranger? LIFE MOVES ON and so did Parth Shastri. Jumping from engineering to his profession of interest, he is living his dream. Set in the cellphone era, the story takes you up and down Parth's life of rage, friendship, office sleaze and relationship issues. When for his greed he loses his family--- he has his guide and mentor by his side to make sure he breathes in the fleapit. Caught between web of people; some haunt him and some his yesterday. Can he confront the past?
Can he get through his web of lies?
LIFE MOVES ON...

Characterization: It is the story of Parth Shastri and his life where he is confused somewhat. The way he brought up the character of Parth is extremely alluring. He studied engineering but follows his heart. This is a plus point of the character where he sees the life ahead of him. His friends and an important character Murli's  kind of presentation is eye catching which will keep oneself attached to the book.
Tiksha and Pratiksha's character had been described both as a woman but with a tinge of innocence. This surely makes them look opposite to Parth Shastri which makes it even more catchy.

Review: The book is an interesting read when it hits the climax to Parth Shastri revealing his truths and losing of his family. Both pathetic and vulgar these areas and scenes will be well received by the readers. In all, the book is somewhat adventurous, interactive and emotional.

Language: The language is simple and young adults are definitely going to like the way in which it is written. Sarthak Kelapure has done a great job with his pen in his debut novel. It has a soothing smooth flow of words.

A line to keep you remember this book:
"We weren't perfect yesterday, we aren't perfect today, neither will we be perfect tomorrow. But that doesn't mean we cannot make things perfect."

Reader's point of view: A good read which can be enjoyed during leisure time.

Selfish Soul

How's this selfishness of yours,
That you don't take the sun, nor take the shade
How's this selfishness of yours,
that your feet don't stay anywhere?

You've tried being your own God,
and crossed all seven seas,
Still there is a draught within your heart,
Why is it so?

I ask you to listen to me,
Believe me.
Come, your shadows too are calling you back.
Listen to me,
Believe me.
What a loveless and ruthless person you are!

That broken cot,
that cool breeze from the east, Awaits you.
That milk cream
The pot full of earthen water still waits
The whole Sukhiganj searches for you even today.

How's this selfishness of yours,
That you don't take the sun, nor take the shade
How's this selfishness of yours,
that your feet don't stay anywhere?

How's this selfishness of yours,
Neither salt nor sugar fit on your tongue
How's this selfishness of yours,
That you have forgot old love..
O free man, free spirit,
You're a storm of wind..
then why have you ended
within yourself only?
